Alex Wakely : Announces his retirement from all forms of Cricket

 Previous Northamptonshire Captain Alex Wakely on Wednesday reported his retirement from all types of cricket with quick impact. Northamptonshire top-of-the-line cricketer number 453, Wakely addressed the district on 371 events across all configurations, scoring in excess of 12,000 runs. "I have altogether made the most of my profession and I am colossally appreciative for my time in the game. I have had numerous highs and numerous lows en route, yet I have consistently given 100% to Northamptonshire Cricket," Wakely said in an authority discharge. 

One of the club's best Captian, Wakely is the solitary man to lead the region to two significant homegrown titles - lifting the Twenty20 Blast prize in both 2013 and 2016. 

A result of Northamptonshire's foundation, Wakely made his List A presentation in 2005 and his five-star debut in 2007 preceding proceeding to lead the side multiple times in all organizations. 

He expressed gratitude toward the club for offering him every one of the changes throughout the long term. 

"I can't thank the club enough for every one of the chances they have given me throughout the long term, and specifically lead trainer David Ripley who has helped, energized, and upheld me all through. He has become a companion as opposed to a mentor and someone who I have the highest regard for," he added. 

Club Chairman Gavin Warren said Wakely has been an indispensable piece of Northamptonshire County Cricket Club for countless years, adding that "we want him to enjoy all that life has to offer on his retirement". 

"In my mid residency close by David Ripley, Wakers was enormously significant in controlling the Club into an unbelievably fruitful time on the field, to have gotten back the prize in 2013 and 2016 was a wonderful accomplishment," he reviewed.
